Are there any ongoing fees after my website is built?
The project fee is a one-off payment. Ongoing costs are:
- Domain name: £10–£20/year (you pay your registrar directly)
- Web hosting: £5–£30/month (you set up your own, or I can advise)
- Optional ongoing SEO: £300/month (rolling, no contract)
No hidden fees, no mandatory maintenance subscription, no surprises.
Do you charge VAT?
All quoted prices are exclusive of VAT. VAT will be added at the prevailing UK rate (currently 20%) where applicable. If you're VAT-registered, you'll be able to reclaim this.
How do you handle payment?
A 50% deposit is required to begin work, with the remaining 50% due on completion before the site goes live. For larger projects (£2,000+), payment can be structured across three milestones. I accept bank transfer (BACS).
How long does it take to build a website?
A 5-page Starter website takes 4–6 weeks from kick-off to launch. A Professional site with blog takes 6–10 weeks. These timelines assume prompt content and feedback from you — delays in providing copy or images extend the timeline accordingly.
What do I need to provide before we start?
At the start of a project, you'll need:
- Your logo (or brief to create one)
- Brand colours and fonts (if established)
- Written copy for each page
- Photos or images to use
- A list of pages you need
- Examples of sites you like (helpful, not required)
Copywriting, photography sourcing, and logo design can be added to the project scope if needed.
How many rounds of revisions do I get?
The Starter package includes 2 rounds of revisions. The Professional package includes 3 rounds. A "round" means you provide consolidated feedback and I implement all changes in that round. Additional rounds can be added at £75/hour.
Do you work with clients outside your local area?
Yes — I work with businesses across the whole UK remotely. Discovery calls and reviews happen over video (Zoom/Google Meet). All documents are shared digitally. Location has never been a barrier for any of my projects.
Will my website work on mobile phones?
Yes — every website I build is mobile-first, meaning it's designed for small screens first and scaled up to desktop. It's tested across iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and all major desktop browsers before launch.
Do you build WordPress websites?
Primarily, I build custom-coded websites — they load faster, are more secure, and require less ongoing maintenance. That said, I can build WordPress sites when a client specifically needs frequent self-editing capability or requires specific WordPress plugin functionality (e.g. WooCommerce, LMS systems).
Can I update the website myself after launch?
For custom-coded sites: basic text and image updates require minimal HTML knowledge — I'll walk you through this at handover. For more complex updates, I offer a maintenance rate of £75/hour or a small retainer.
If self-editing is a priority, let me know at the start and I can integrate a lightweight headless CMS (like Contentful) so you can update content without touching code.
Will you set up hosting and a domain for me?
I'll advise on the best hosting option for your project and help you set it up, but the account should be in your name so you own it fully. I recommend SiteGround, Kinsta, or Cloudflare Pages depending on your project. Domain registration is best handled through your registrar of choice (Namecheap, 123-reg, etc.).
Is SEO included with a new website?
Yes — full SEO foundations are included as standard in every website: meta titles and descriptions, semantic HTML, heading hierarchy, schema markup, XML sitemap, robots.txt, canonical tags, Open Graph, and Google Analytics 4. This is the bedrock of good SEO and costs nothing extra.
Ongoing SEO (keyword targeting, content creation, ranking improvement) is a separate monthly service at £300/month.
How much do SEO services cost?
Ongoing SEO is £300/month on a rolling basis — no long-term contract, 30 days' notice to cancel. A one-off SEO audit starts from £500.
Monthly SEO includes: keyword ranking tracking, technical fixes, 2 optimised blog posts, internal linking, Google Search Console monitoring, and a plain-English monthly report.
How long does SEO take to work?
SEO is a long-term investment. Most businesses see meaningful improvements in 3–6 months, with significant, sustainable results in 6–12 months. The timeline depends on your market's competitiveness, your current website's health, and content consistency.
I'll give you a realistic expectation at the start based on your specific industry and location — not generic promises.
Do I own my website after it's built?
Yes, absolutely. You own 100% of your website files, domain, and hosting account. There's no lock-in, no monthly website rental, and no ongoing fee required to keep your site live. Your website is yours outright — you can take it to any developer in future if you choose.
What happens to my website if I stop working with RIRI CREATIVE?
Nothing changes. Your website remains live as long as your hosting and domain are paid. You'll have full access to all files and the hosting account. I'll provide complete handover documentation so any developer can continue working on it if needed.
